Question: Operating pressure of centrifugal pump is 400mwc. what should be the moc?

I am looking for a multistage cemtrifugal pump whose duty point is 200m3/ hr flow, 400 mwc head for river water 3000ppm terbidity and speed 1500rpm. Please suggest me the suitable material of construction for casing, impeller, shaft etc. and best manufacturar of these type of pump in India.

Best manufacturer of these type of pump are: Kirloskar KSB Sulzer Akay pumps. Volute casing ,Guide vanes and impeller [close] should be made from alloy cast iron. Each impeller needs to be dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 Grade 1.0. Inter-stages bushes MOC should be phosphor bronze. Best moc for shaft is SS410.Shaft and Impeller key should be from SS304. Wear ring for casing and impeller should be from C.I. Impeller nut should be of SS with heli coil insert.

Conventional cast iron casing volute , impeller , inter stage flow diverting diffuser,rotor assembly supporting bushes shall wear out rapidly. "Ni Hard " casting, 3.50 % nickel alloying recommended for volute, impellers , diffusers and suction port. Sha ft of SS 304 and rotor assembly supporting bushes of SS 410. M.O.C. change was performed, from conventional close grain C.I. to "Ni Hard " C.I., there after errosion decay trouble of an imported pump ended.
