Doorbell triggered from some electrical surge?
Ok, this is weird..Whenever I vacuum, the doorbell goes off at random intervals. I'd like some theories as to why this is happening..So far my family and I have guessed that it could be something to do with bad wiring in the doorbell, allowing a slight change in voltage to trigger it..Sometimes happens with the lightswitch in the hallway also.TIA for any ideas xD

Our power bill went from 1386 kwh in May to 2424kwh in June. This even included a period of 5 days which our power was knocked out due to a storm. Before our power went out there was a very strong power surge for a period of about thirty seconds. There was no dramatic differences in power usage from AC since the average temperatures were about the same in both months. Trying to figure out the cause.
Why did the power just surge near Denver, CO?
I live in Westminster, Colorado, and was on my cell phone with my mother, in my house, when all of the sudden my lights flickered, my internet dropped, my TV Satellite went out and my cell phone call dropped. Everything came back up either immediately or within a few minutes. Was it a solar flare? Oddly enough, my husband was at work 15 miles north of here and the same thing happened, though my mother 10 miles north did not experience a power blip.Oh, the smoke plume, that's interesting. I can't see that far south due to the alignment of my condo complex's arrangement. Maybe there will be something on a news site soon.Oh, go to 9news.com and they are reporting a fire at 13th and Colorado.

Need help in surge tank sizing?
I have completely botched up my surge tank sizing and I really need help right now. Basically I have a distillation column that is essentially separating benzene and propane. The top of the column has a condensor which feeds liquid propane to a surge tank reflux drum. The reflux drum also contains trace amounts of benzene and some other chemicals.So if I am to understand correctly, since propane is more volatile than benzene, some of the propane in the surge tank depending on the residence time would turn into vapour?If that is correct, I can consider my surge tank to be a vapour liquid separator. But then, how do I find out how much vapour if formed if I know the pressure and temperature in the surge tank? Please help

i'm working on a circuit about 4 Amps AC 220 Volts and i sometimes get short circuits because of bad connections, so are surge protectors a solution for avoiding the tripping of the breaker.the surge protector i have trips at 6.5Amps.

I would think something along the line of 12 15 feet. Cape Hatteras could be in some serious trouble if the storm takes a more westerly path depending on what happens with the trough especially when it's on an island.
